2008 - The Medium Control Home Construction Women in Construction Company, LLC


 

The Medium Control House

This home, built during the winter of 2007/2008 by Women in Construction, was designed by Heather Hiner of Hiner Home Designs in collaboration with the homeowners, Tommy Kronquist and Kristy Evans of The Medium Control. the home’s interior and exterior is an expression of the industrial approach to architecture with galvanized metal siding.  The interior design of the home utilizes birch plywood vaulted ceilings, sheetrock return/trim less windows, polished concrete and cork floors, suspended staircase, and cabinetry and counter tops made with Richlite, which is also used for skateboard ramps and cutting boards

The home was built with energy conservation and longevity in mind.  It has been super-insulated, triple-pane low e argon windows, utilizing a passive solar design and wired for solar power to be installed in the future.  The materials used in construction were chosen for durability and longevity and include fiber cement board siding and galvaized metal siding, Richlite countertps and cabinets, cork and polished cement floors.
